Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health support available
There is a number of resources available to support the emotional wellbeing and mental health of head teachers, teachers and other school staff, students and parents/ carers. These include videos from the Traversing the Transition series suitable for all, and Leading through the Storm (you will have to be logged in to see this content) for head teachers which are on the educational psychology resources page of S4S.
There is also a list of websites and resources to support emotional wellbeing and mental health on SchoolsNet. Further information about support for staff including Joined Up Care and Mental Health First Aiders is also available on SchoolsNet, along with information on supporting teacher resilience, information for children attending school, and coping with a COVID-19 related death.
The Education Data Hub has produced template DPIAs for all schools (even if your school doesn’t purchase the DPO/GDPR Support service) for two COVID related intervention schemes: National Tuition Programme and Nuffield Early Language Intervention Scheme.
Please note that both these schemes involve the collection of pupil and staff personal data for research purposes - each DPIA template contains advice regarding the implications of this and actions that you may wish to take.
For subscribing schools, the Education Data Hub team will be available to support schools further if needed by contacting gdprforschools@derbyshire.gov.uk Non-subscribing schools should obtain further advice from their own Data Protection Officer.
The new ‘COVID-19 Lateral Flow Device Testing (LFDT) in Schools and other Educational Settings’ risk assessment is now available (once logged in) to download from the Health and Safety page on S4S in the ‘COVID-19 Resources for Schools’.
This risk assessment template will provide schools and other educational settings with appropriate control measures to carry out this activity in a safe manner.
