Transfer to secondary education 2021/2022 reminder

The closing date for parents of year 6 children to make applications for secondary education next September is fast approaching. Please see our latest document to alert and ask you to distribute reminder letters to parents of children who have not yet applied. Please ensure these letters are distributed ahead of the half term break.


Time running out on DfE learning platforms and EdTech platform demonstrator schemes

Schools are urged to apply for the DfE learning platforms and EdTech platform demonstrator schemes before the schemes close. These are targeted at getting schools free help with installing Remote Learning Platforms and accessing training.

Outstanding fixed term exclusion reports for academic year 2019/2020

For non-RM schools, please note that the deadline for the return of any outstanding fixed term exclusion reports for academic year 2019/2020 is 23 October 2020. This is particularly important this year since the DfE has amended exclusion reason codes and an upgrade to DCC recording/reporting systems, to accommodate this, is scheduled for November 2020.

Free cyber incident and IT disaster recovery awareness training

The Education Data Hub team is offering free cyber incident and IT disaster recovery planning and awareness training, following on from the warnings by DfE, National Cyber Security Centre and other cyber crime agencies regarding the significant rise in ransomware and other types of cyber-attack targeting schools.
