Works this month have been focussed on the installation of Phase 3 of the new culvert and installing the piled wall to enable the final stage of the scheme to be undertaken. The Culvert units for Phase 3 were installed on Monday 21st October and the waterproofing & backfilling of the units began the following day.
Completion of phase 3 meant that it was possible to remove the traffic lights on Sheffield Road on Monday 28th October following a short closure on the previous day to allow the road resurfacing to take place.
Road markings will be laid as soon as possible but it should not be necessary to close the road in order for this to take place.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience while the vital work to replace the culvert took place.
Phase 4 Culvert Replacement and Scheme Completion Works
The final stage of the scheme (Phase 4 culvert installation and all finishing works i.e. walling, fencing & resurfacing) will be undertaken from within the Derbyshire County Council Depot.
