Did you see us at the Big Day Out?

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall at the Big Day Out. It was wonderful to meet so many of you and chat about our services, as well as seeing families getting creative by decorating flower pots and planting seeds.
A special thank you goes to Krinkels UK for their generous donation, which helped make our seed planting activity possible. We hope everyone enjoyed taking part, and we look forward to seeing your flowers bloom!

Do you have a good neighbour?
We know many of our tenants go above and beyond to support their neighbours and make a positive difference in their communities. Whether it's helping with everyday tasks, checking in on someone who may be feeling isolated, organising community activities, or simply being a friendly face, we'd like to recognise those unsung heroes.
Throughout the year, nominated tenants will receive a Good Neighbour Thank You Card and be invited to a special awards celebration at the end of the year.
If you know a Dartford Borough Council tenant who deserves recognition, we'd love to hear from you. To nominate someone, email Housing Engagement with their name and up to 100 words explaining why they should be recognised.

Keeping communities safe and clean
Fixing your car, van or motorbike? Keep others in mind!
Minor repairs to vehicles are fine, but major repairs or anything that causes smells, noise, or other disruption should not take place on your estate - that's what your local mechanic is for.
Thank you for helping us maintain a peaceful environment.
Keep communal areas safe and secure
Residents are reminded not to buzz in strangers without identification. Shared doors mean we're all essential for everyone’s safety. Please help us prevent unauthorised access.
If you're concerned about strangers inside your building, you can contact the Antisocial Behaviour Team on asbteam@dartford.gov.uk
Getting rid of bulky household items
We offer Dartford residents special collections of bulky household items.
The Council can arrange for a contractor to collect and dispose of large bulky household waste, such as furniture, televisions, fridges, freezers and washing machines.
There is a charge of £39.50 for up to 10 items, with extra items charged at £2 per item (maximum 4 extra items). Why not speak to your neighbours, arrange a collection, and share the cost?

Tenant Satisfaction Measures
Tenant Satisfaction Measures were introduced by the Regulator of Social Housing in 2024 as a way of recording how we’re performing as your landlord. Your views help us identify where we’re supporting you well and where there’s room for improvement.
To help us achieve this, we’re giving every DBC tenant the chance to tell us how we’re doing. The survey will be used to calculate our annual tenant satisfaction measures.
An independent company called TLF Research will be contacting you on our behalf to carry out a five to 10 minute survey. You’ll be contacted by text, email, post or telephone and the survey opens from July 20. You will have until September 18 to to carry out the survey.
Got a complaint about our service?
If we get things wrong, we want to make them right and learn from our mistakes.
How to complain
If you’re not satisfied with the service you’ve received from us, we want you to tell us what happened so we can resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Visit our complaints page to make a complaint and understand the process. This page also explains how to seek advice from the Housing Ombudsman.
Every year we carry out a self-assessment against the Ombudsman's Complaints Handling Code to see how we’re performing as a landlord. View the self-assessment.
