Welcome to the first newsletter from Cumberland SEND Partnership, your new local area partnership. We would like to take this time to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and we hope everyone had a restful and joyful festive period - however long ago it may now seem!
The Cumberland SEND Partnership and Westmorland and Furness SEND Partnership are now the two new local area partnerships for Cumbria, replacing the Cumbria SEND Partnership. Both partnerships will continue the previous work of the Cumbria SEND Partnership, but with a focus on their local area.
Our newsletter this month will include more information about the Cumberland SEND Partnership, as well as news on Targeted Short Breaks services, and the Cumberland Annual SEND Conference. In our events this month, we have upcoming drop-in sessions from the Autism Pathway Navigators, as well as professionals from Cumberland Council. Our resources in this edition include the 'Teenager's Guide to ADHD' from the ADHD Foundation, as well as an EHCP Annual review resource from the Council for Disabled Children and more!

Introducing the Cumberland SEND Partnership
As mentioned in our introduction, this is our first newsletter coming from the Cumberland SEND Partnership, the new partnership for the Cumberland area.
The Cumberland SEND Partnership consists of colleagues from Cumberland Council, local health and NHS services, as well as SENDAC, the parent-carer forum for the Cumberland area. The Cumberland SEND Partnership brings together colleagues from these organisations to improve SEND services for the local area. As mentioned, we will continue to work on Cumbria SEND Partnership work in the Cumberland area, as well as our own workstreams!
We have a new logo, shown above. Westmorland and Furness SEND Partnership will also have a new logo, which we will share shortly so both new Partnerships logos are recognisable and familiar to all families.
For the time being, the Cumbria SEND Partnership Facebook page will continue to share county-wide SEND news and updates. This Facebook page will rebrand to the Cumberland SEND Partnership page in the upcoming weeks, but will share county-wide news until the Westmorland and Furness SEND Partnership page is established.
We have really appreciated families' patience and understanding following Local Government Reorganisation and the split of the Cumbria SEND Partnership. At this point, our communications channels (particularly for receiving this newsletter) are still being established, and we would really appreciate your support with spreading the word. If you know any other families with SEND children or young people in Cumberland who would benefit from receiving our newsletter or updates from the Partnership, please forward this to them or share the information below:
To subscribe to our newsletter, please click the link below and enter your email address. To subscribe to updates and newsletters from the Cumberland SEND Partnership, please select the 'children, families and schools' category, and the select 'Cumberland SEND Partnership.' Please then scroll to the bottom and select 'submit' to ensure you are subscribed.

You can get in touch with Craig Holcroft, the Sport Works operations lead for the area at craig.holcroft@sportworksltd.co.uk.
Endorphins will continue to run sessions in the Copeland areas. We will soon be launching a feedback survey for the Targeted Short Breaks service to share your views on the service.

Cumberland Annual SEND Conference gathers professionals from around the county
On 11 and 12 January, education and health colleagues from Cumberland and the surrounding areas gathered for the Cumberland Annual SEND Conference, hosted by Cumberland Council in Partnership with the University of Cumbria.
Attendees listened to keynote speeches from nationally renowned speakers, attended multiple workshops delivered by professionals from the council, NHS and health organisations, and SENDAC, the parent-carer forum for Cumberland. A number of local and national exhibitors were also present.
We have received really positive feedback from attendees, and will be sharing resources for attendees to pass on to colleagues from their education settings. We hope the conference will have a positive impact on children and young people's experiences in education.
"Thank you for another super conference. You always know it has been a good course, when you leave with a 'to do' list!"
