Did you know that for every service, we rate we ask whether they are: safe, effective, caring, responsive to people's needs and well-led? 

We give most services a rating under each of these questions as well as an overall rating. Services are legally required to display these ratings where you can see them.

Dementia Atlas

'Dementia Atlas' launched

We welcome the launch of the Department of Health's new Dementia Atlas. This interactive colour-coded map will allow people with dementia, their families and carers to make meaningful comparisons about the quality of dementia care in their area.

Consultation: Expanding services we can rate

The Department of Health has launched a consultation on proposals to extend the types of provider that we are able to rate following inspection.

In the future, this could mean we give ratings to services we currently regulate but don't rate, such as cosmetic surgery providers, independent ambulance services and substance misuse services.
