Our senior crown prosecutors are highly trained and confident lawyers with excellent people skills and a passion for delivering justice.
A big part of the job is reviewing evidence and making decisions on whether a case should be prosecuted - in line with our Code for Crown Prosecutors. You'll conduct discussions with the police on evidence requirements and charges, making the final decision on whether or not a charge can be brought and what it will be.
You'll be responsible for preparing cases, reviewing case files and charging decisions, and providing legal advice on cases to be presented in both the magistrates' and Crown Courts.
You'll work with a wide range of people, collaborating closely with colleagues from across the CPS and other agencies, including the police and judiciary.
You'll have expert communication skills, and be confident speaking in public. You'll represent the CPS on the frontline, and as such, you'll play a vital role in maintaining public confidence in our work.
