Loan shark and scammers learning event

Coventry Safeguarding Children Partnership & Adults Board facilitated a learning event on loan sharks and csammers. The event was delivered by ‘Stop Loan Sharks’, and provided practitioners with an awareness of interventions and support available to those that are victims of illegal loan sharks.

Making Safeguarding Personal resources

One of the priorities of the Safeguarding Adult Board is promoting the importance of Making Safeguarding Personal: safeguarding should be personal and individual to each case. Please see below a range of resources on Making Safeguarding Personal:

  • A Making Safeguarding Personal leaflet
  • webinar on Making Safeguarding Personal for local practitioners

Further resources are available to access online.

Please feedback any comments around the resources and your experience using them!

Large scale enquiry guidance

Large scale enquiries have an important role in understanding and responding to concerns about organisational abuse or neglect. They provide an opportunity to review a number of individual safeguarding enquiries together, to identify patterns and underlying causes of abuse and neglect, and to identify the learning and measures needed to safeguard people who use that service.

In this way, large scale enquiries can have an important role in helping to prevent the reoccurrence of abuse or neglect, and in supporting people’s expectations, that they be safe and feel safe, now and into the future.

Coventry City Council have developed Large Scale enquiry practice guidance and we would encourage all agencies to access this.

Domestic abuse professional network website

Domestic abuse is a key issue for Coventry City Council’s Public Health team, West Midlands Police, community safety and safeguarding. Coventry City Council commissions a suite of services to address domestic abuse:

  • Victim and Children’s Services for information, advice and community based support
  • Victim Supported Accommodation
  • Perpetrator Service
  • Mental Health Support Service

This website is a resource to support and help connect professionals working across Coventry.
