A learning event on two of our recently published Safeguarding Adult Reviews took place in November 2023. Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs) are a statutory review process for adults with care and support needs who have died or been seriously harmed through abuse or neglect. The review aims to find out what agencies did well and what they could've done better as a partnership.
The two SARs that have been published are David and Carol.
Read the summary for David's SAR. Read the summary for Carol's SAR.

One of the priorities of the Safeguarding Adult Board is promoting the importance of Making Safeguarding Personal: safeguarding should be personal and individual to each case. Please see below a range of resources on Making Safeguarding Personal:
- A Making Safeguarding Personal leaflet
- A webinar on Making Safeguarding Personal for local practitioners
Further resources are available to access online.
Please feedback any comments around the resources and your experience using them!
The Safeguarding Adults Board has created a new self-neglect and hoarding webinar. The webinar was created to raise awareness of the key features of both the Hoarding Best Practice Framework and Guidance and the Regional Self neglect Guidance.
Watch the Self neglect and hoarding webinar (youtube.com). We would encourage you to access this resource.
A guide for domestic violence and abuse victims about services from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
If you’ve left an abusive relationship and claim Universal Credit, your work coach can help you to open a new claim as a single claimant. From this moment your ex-partner will not have access to any information about your new claim. You can also get a rapid advance of up to 100% of your expected Universal Credit monthly entitlement. You may get a decision on the same day.
Have you or someone you know accessed safeguarding support and services? If so, we would value your feedback on your experience. This survey will only take 2-3 minutes of your time, and please fill out your agency/organisation within the first box. No names will be collected so your response will be anonymous.

- Suicide is preventable
The course is accessible through the Zero Suicide Alliance website. A downloadable certificate available for the user once they have completed the course.
