Many congratulations to Darryl from Binley, the winner of the latest Go CV and CityFibre competition who won a bundle of small kitchen appliances worth £250 just in time for Christmas.  Here's Darryl receiving the prize from Leigh Hunt, Regional Partnership Director of CityFibre, alongside Councillor Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health & Sport.  

Winner, Darryl, said: "You never expect to win competitions so I was really pleased when I was told I had won this one! Me and my family will really enjoy using the prizes over Christmas along with the other Go CV benefits available. Thank you to Go CV and CityFibre!"

Why not validate your account during the holidays?

Our records show that many of you need to validate your account so you can take advantage of all the Go CV offers in the new year. This is important and not related to your marketing preferences.

Log into your account to check your status. If your account shows level [0] action is required and you can see what needs to be done in the 'My Account' section. You may need to re-add your 'Coventry resident' status and provide proof of your address and qualifying benefits. You can securely upload a copy of any proof when logged into your account where it says ‘Upload Document’ next to whatever is shown as ‘Proof Pending’. Here are which documents we will accept.

Once you have confirmed you are a Coventry resident, the discount level will be shown as [1] on your account. If this hasn't been done automatically, then you only need to upload proof every three years.

If you receive qualifying benefits for Go CV+ and you have provided proof, your account will show [2] which means you are a Coventry resident with the highest level of discount available. Check to see if you qualify for Go CV+. You will need to validate your benefits each year.


If you never managed to pick up a card, don’t worry. Your account has created a virtual Go CV card that you can use to book and scan at venues when it is validated. You can find this in the ‘My card’ tab on your account via a web browser. 

If you still prefer a card, you can pick one up from our Card Collection Centres, but remember to check their opening hours over the festive period and update your account with the new card number.

Have a great Christmas but stay safe

As Omicron spreads in the community everyone should take up the offer of vaccinations and booster jabs if appropriate, when they are invited, along with carrying out regular Lateral Flow Tests. These remain our best defence against COVID and the best way of keeping ourselves, loved ones and colleagues virus-free.

So please follow all health and Government guidelines, stay safe and protect others and enjoy the festive season taking extra care.
