Staycation - no problem!

Family walking

It's officially 'holiday time' and with COVID, many of us will be choosing to take a 'Staycation' and enjoy some activities closer to home.

Many of our partners are starting to re-open so if you plan to use your Go CV card, make sure your details are validated.  You can drop us an email to prove your address or that you receive any benefits by sending us photo confirmation - it's that easy!  We'll delete copies once we've validated them.  You can collect any cards when our sign-up centres re-open or email us if you need one urgently.  You can then take advantage of the Go CV and Go CV+ prices advertised.

We'd all love COVID to disappear but it sadly hasn't gone away, so we're reminding people to enjoy themselves safely by washing hands regularly and keeping to social distancing measures in place at venues.

Take care and #staysafe

Coventry Bears receives funding for Junior teams

Bears Juniors

One of our partners, Coventry Bears, will be setting up three new satellite clubs for children, thanks to news of receiving £14,946.75 from the CreatedBy RLWC2021 Capital Grants Programme.

Cllr Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, said: "This is a great project for the city off the back of the recent Rugby League World Cup 2021 fixture announcement.

"I will always fully support any project like this. I love to see more children getting active in Coventry, and what's even better is that the satellite clubs will reach young people in the wider West Midlands area too.

"I look forward to seeing the new clubs start up and I wish everyone luck that is partaking in the legacy sponsored bike ride to raise further funding."

Debbie Watson, CEO of Coventry Bears also added: “The opportunity for us to create brand new clubs and populate them with local players and volunteers, doesn’t come around often. We want each satellite club to be justly inclusive and embedded within its local community, whilst embracing the Bears' family values.

"If you are inspired by this and are interested in playing, coaching or volunteering in any capacity within one of these new clubs, we would encourage you to register your interest via www.coventrybears.com/rlwc
