Summer Breakfast Holiday Club 2020

From Monday 27 July to Friday 28 August, children will have the opportunity to access a free breakfast and activity pack from a local venue. These packs have been provided through grant funding received from Feeding Britain and will contain cereal, milk, fresh fruit and additional breakfast items. This funding is limited and has been awarded to support all families in this challenging time. We want the offer not to be just about food, so have included activities that the children can do on their own or with their families.

If you’d like more information please contact Tina Wukics 024 7697 7020 or Niamh Mellor 024 7697 2377 on BreakfastClub@coventry.gov.uk.

Local Authority/Trade Union workload group

Our group of Trade Union, LA and Headteacher representatives has met regularly over the last few years to ensure that the workload agenda retains a high profile in Coventry. During this time we have introduced the Workload Charter which several schools have piloted and then adopted in their schools.

We want our work to continue to support you in schools in a new way at this difficult time and so we are planning to create a space to host resources that you can choose to access. These will include examples of good practice around the virtual learning agenda, and a staff survey that you could choose to use to find out what aspects of working in the current conditions cause the most issues, with a view to minimising them where possible.

We will let you know shortly how to access this space. Our aim is to update you regularly on the outcomes of our meetings, with a slot in the Friday update. If you have any queries or suggestions, or would like to join, please email Lucy Lambert (lucy.lambert@coventry.gov.uk). We would be very happy to hear from you.

For now we would like to extend our sincere thanks to you and your staff teams for all that you continue to do and hope that you can have a restful, well-deserved holiday in the coming weeks.
