Outdoor Education Service - free webinar 5 June (Primary)

We will provide online training through Microsoft Teams to enable teaching assistants or any of your staff team to lead half day outdoor learning sessions for ‘bubbles of young people’. These will include introductory training on health and safety and leading ‘bubbles’ outside, along with overviews of daily activities. The first session will be on outdoor learning top tips and resources for teaching assistants, with the aim of reducing the pressure on indoor space in the coming weeks and months.

Resources including a COVID-19 and Outdoor Learning health and safety advice and proforma risk assessment document will be made available at the end of the training and weekly plans of daily resources will also be available.

The first online session is: Friday 5 June 2020 1pm- 2pm.  To book onto the training please contact Sarah Ramsey via email: sarahatkins@plasdolymoch.co.uk or on 07943 520599

This training is PROVIDED GRATIS, and will include material created and donated by a number of organisations.

Insurance Services

As was advised to School Governors in March 2020, the Council is going out to tender for Insurance Services with the new arrangements being put in place with effect from 1 December.

The Insurance Section sent an e-mail to schools that opt into the Insurance Service Level Agreement on 27 May asking to be made aware if a school does not want to be included within the tender.

Please can schools contact the Insurance Manager, Roger Martin (Roger.Martin@coventry.gov.uk) before 10 June if the school should be excluded from the tender, for example because it intends to insure via the Department of Education Risk Protection Arrangement from 1 December.

If a school does not respond, it will be assumed that it should be included within the tender.
