Go CV officially one year old!

Happy 1st birthday go cv

Wow - we're one year old already!

It may not seem like there's much to celebrate in these difficult times, but we'd like to thank each and every one of you for being part of the Go CV family the past 12 months.

There are now 45,000 members and we can only look ahead positively to when the national picture improves and residents can once again make active use of their card across a range of great Coventry facilities, projects and events.

There's lots of ideas of things you can do at home to keep active and interested and we'd love to see some of the things you've been up to and might inspire others.  Feel free to tag us on Facebook and Twitter!

In the meantime  #stayhomestaysafe.

Keeping active while at home

Stay home stay active Sport England

We know lots of you are juggling childcare, schooling and working from home at the moment.  But don't forget to look after yourself!

There are lots of activities online that you can take part in together or on your own and Sport England has put together a list of different sessions to keep you motivated as part of their #StayInWorkOut campaign.

Coventry Sport social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter are promoting ideas from clubs and organisations all over Coventry.  Activities for all age groups and abilities will be provided making sure the campaign is fully inclusive and as many people as possible can stay active.

Hire an e-book for free from Coventry libraries

Coventry library service has a number of e-books, e-comics and audiobooks you can hire.

If you're a member of the library you can use the borrow box app or hire through the website.

Exercising outdoors while social distancing

Our parks are still open for you to enjoy but please observe strict social distancing and keep at least two metres apart, don't arrange to meet up with people that don't live with you and only go out once a day for exercise.

In many of them you'll see helpful banners giving you a visual reminder of how two metres look.  Remember under government guidance play areas within parks are closed.

West Midlands Network has put together some tips on how to safely walk, run or cycle outdoors whilst social distancing.

Look after your mental wellbeing

Coventry City Council has put together a helpful page of activities and advice for keeping happy, healthy and occupied at home.  The page is updated regularly so check back for up to date advice.
