Thousands of people joined in the Christmas festivities at the city’s big switch-on in Broadgate last night.​The annual festive event is always a big attraction and last night was as popular as ever, with many families and children braving the poor weather to make the most of the evening’s entertainment. As part of the ongoing promotion of the city centre this Christmas period, the Council has a number of car parking offers. People can park for free on Wednesdays for late night shopping, plus on weeknights before Christmas (18 to 22 December). as long as you enter the car parks after 3pm.  For the full list of car park in the free parking offer visit the Council website.


Council set to boost City of Culture

Youth in full voice for UK City of Culture 2021

City of Culture PYF

Positive Youth Foundation (PYF) has been given the title Honorary Partner for its contribution to the city’s efforts to land the prestigious title – UK City of Culture 2021. 

David Burbidge, Chairman of Coventry’s bid to be UK City of Culture in 2021, said: “Coventry is a city that is, on average, seven years younger than the rest of the UK and we had to reflect that in the bid.

“Winning UK City of Culture is about leaving a legacy and making an impact on the city that will bring benefits for years, if not decades, to come." Read more...
