Hey there,
We’ve got a quick update for you, from our Frodsham Library partners, on the proposed Brio Frodsham redevelopment:
Things have been moving along well, but we’ve come up against some challenges relating to costs. Initial costings have come in significantly higher than the available budget. However, we’re still working behind the scenes to move the project along while we get the finances sorted out.
What’s been happening so far? Since our last update, the architects and project team have been busy getting to know every nook and cranny of the site. They’ve carried out all sorts of surveys, including measuring up the building, checking the roof, mapping out the land and even looking at things like drainage and biodiversity. All this groundwork helps us make sure we’re building on solid foundations.
On top of that, the team has been developing the design, exploring both one-storey and two-storey options, and working through the proposals. This is the bit where we start to see how the project could look and what materials might be needed, so we can make the most of the space and keep things practical.
A few other exciting things we’ve been working on:
- Prioritising larger spaces to give you more room where it counts
- Planning for upgraded changing facilities and fully accessible
- Shaping a welcoming, shared lobby so the library and Brio Frodsham work better together
