All libraries, with the exception of Chester Library at Storyhouse, will be closed on Monday 1, Monday 8 and Monday 29 May. We will remain open on Saturday 6 May for the Coronation of Charles III.
Sandiway Library
In addition, Sandiway Library will be closed on Thursday 4 May as it is a designated polling station for local elections. All other libraries will remain open as usual on this day.

- Statesmanship, Tragedy and Love: the Remarkable Tale of Three Parkgate Overseas Adventurers
Tuesday 16 May, 2pm, Neston Library
Talk by local historian Anthony Annakin-Smith, about the extraordinary story of three individuals whose lives intersected in Parkgate: a tragic seafarer, an eminent politician and a courageous woman. “The Most Important Field in Neston”: Walk & Talk with Anthony Annakin-Smith
Tuesday 30 May, 6-7pm, starts at Neston Library
Learn to read the landscape and recognise how one field in Neston reflects hundreds of years of the area’s history. Includes the Wirral Way, part of Wirral Country Park, which is due to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. Refreshments will be available on return to the library. Hospice UK are encouraging communities across the country to come together and get talking about death and dying in whatever way, shape and form works for them. Visit Hospice UK for more information about the week.
We’ll be hosting a Death Café at Winsford Library on Tuesday 9 May, 10.30am-12pm. Join us to share tea and cake and talk about death as a natural part of life. There will be lot of laughter and chat about making the most of the time that we have.
