Crossroads Together Young Carers Service - CW&C Commissioned Service
Who we are
Crossroads Together have been supporting young carers in Cheshire West for over 4 years. We have been providing support and respite to young people who provide care or who live with a member of their family who has physical or mental ill health or living around addiction or learning disabilities.
We support Young Carers
Ask yourself these questions about the young people you live or work with…
- Is there ill health, addiction or learning disabilities within the home?
- Do the young people provide care or more importantly to consider, does the care needs or ill health influence the young people in any way? For example, finding it hard to mix with others, feeling resentful to the wider family, missing out on opportunities, having a tough time in school or showing signs their own mental health and wellbeing is being compromised?
If you answered yes to any of these, we would like to hear from you.
Not all young carers are caregivers. They can however find the health needs of their family effecting them in some way.
Many young carers grow and thrive despite their important role in their family, others find it hard and upsetting.
What we offer
- Dedicated fortnightly groups and activities for young carers.
- 1:1 support. “A problem shared is a problem halved”.
- Summer and ½ term activities.
- Young Carers voice – meeting and linking with the local authority about what works for them.
