Improvements to cycle lanes along Long Lane and Greenfield Lane in Upton
The Council's highway engineers are to introduce a series of changes to the cycle lanes along the A41 at the Long Lane and Mannings Lane junction in Upton, to improve traffic flow and speed up journey times.
Road markings are being changed to allow two cars to pass through the junction at the same time. This will increase the capacity of the junction and speed up the flow of traffic, reducing congestion. The two lanes will be extended beyond the junction in the direction of Chester, before returning to a mandatory cycle lane. The cycle lane will continue up to the Greenway overbridge at which point cyclists are encouraged to use the wide shared footpath.
