Active travel lanes
The new active travel lanes on the A5116 between the Dale Camp roundabout and Upton Grange crossroads, and on the A51 in Boughton by The Bars roundabout start from 5 October to make cycling a safer option and increasing the speed of public transport.

Chester goes clockwise
Starting from 16 November for approximately 12 months, there will be a clockwise one-way route for most of the inner ring road in order to allow for essential infrastructure works to install a new city centre drainage tunnel through Chester.

Civic Way, Ellesmere Port
There is a temporary one-way system on Civic Way between Wellington Road and Whitby Road until November. Works are continuing for installation of the new bus transport hub. Following this, work begins in November for the new hub office building on the site of the old bus station.

Work on A556 Gadbrook Park Junction
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s £2.99 million A556 Improvement Scheme at the Gadbrook Park junction begins on the 5 October. All works are scheduled for completion in Spring 2021.

A51 Tarvin to Cheshire improvement scheme
The project seeks to deliver a series of major junction and roundabout improvements that will see:
- additional lanes at the Stamford Bridge traffic lights, the widening of the existing bridge over the River Gowy and capacity improvements at Tarvin roundabout
- changes to the road layout, widening, lane markings, new controlled crossing-point at Hare Lane/Littleton Lane and better signage
- new crossing points and improved facilities for pedestrians, cyclists and bus users are also planned

A5117 Cycle Improvement Scheme, Ellesmere Port
Work to provide a new shared use pathway along the northern side of the A5117 road corridor between Ellesmere Port and Thornton-Le-Moors, that forms part of National Cycle Route 5 started in September.
