Action Transport - Love Letters to the Town
Love Letters to the Town is a special project, by and with a group of local young writers who have something hopeful to share with the people of Ellesmere Port and the world!
Action Transport Theatre hope we can bring a little bit of magic to people in their homes - either by a letter in the post; young people reading a letter to recipients (either in front of peoples homes or perhaps a safe distance in their garden) or via a video message to hear what our young writers have to say.
All recipients of letters will be left with a letter, a balloon and the opportunity to reply by letter or postcard...

In previous years public events have been held to mark Armed Forces Week, which starts on Monday, 22 June, and includes Reserves Day on Wednesday, 24 June, and Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 27 June. This year, to reduce the spread of COVID-19, celebrations are moving online instead.
You can say thank you to our Armed Forces community past and present here. Share photos or videos of yourself, friends, family or colleagues saluting to pay tribute to those working to keep us safe.
You can post a video or photo of your salute and add a message of thanks on the council’s Inspire Cheshire West website which was launched to celebrate how our communities are pulling together during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ellesmere Port Market has remained open throughout the lock-down providing essential items for shoppers. As restrictions are slowly lifted the Market is now back with 60 per cent of stalls this week and more reopening in July.
Like everywhere in the high street things look a little different. The main entrance to the Market (facing Asda) has a hand sanitiser available and there are floor markers to help maintain social distancing. For those people used to using the Port Arcades entrance, the shutters are closed to help both sides of the building control a safe number of shoppers.
Takeaway food is available whilst the social distancing measures are still in place. The tables and chairs will return as soon as its allowed.
Ellesmere Port Market is open six days a week (closed Wednesday) 8am to 4pm.
The Live Well Cheshire West Website has been setup to provide a central place for residents to access information, advice and local services.
We have launched a dedicated helpline to provide advice and support, and where necessary make arrangements for food, medicines and social contact.
- Telephone: 0300 123 7031
- Monday to Friday: 8am until 7pm
- Saturday: 8am until 6pm

Work Zones All Work Zones are closed to the public. Mentoring appointments and registrations are still available online and by phone for existing customers and other unemployed residents looking for employment support.
The Work Zones are offering a job matching service for employees who have recently been laid off or had their hours reduced by the coronavirus outbreak, and are looking to transfer temporarily to a new job.
