Cheshire West and Chester COVID-19 Advice
The Council Website is being updated on a regular basis, providing guides and links to other websites offering advice relating to the Coronavirus.
The Live Well Cheshire West Website has been setup to provide a central place for residents to access information, advice and local services.
Cheshire West and Chester Council's Community Response Fund has been set up to support community initiatives through this unprecedented time.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has set up a Community Fund worth £250,000 to help local people and causes as west Cheshire aims to fight COVID-19 together
Waste Recycling Centres Cheshire West and Chester Council and its partners HM Martins have taken the decision to close all household waste recycling centres in the borough until further notice.
Garden Waste All collections of garden waste have been suspended so resources can be concentrated on maintaining a regular household refuse collection service.
Library Services
All libraries are closed.
You can renew your loans using the Cheshire Libraries Catalogue or phone 0300 123 7739 for 24 hour renewals.
To help customers to continue using our service we have:
- Extended all loans until the end of April
- Halted any new fines incurring
- Increased the loan limit to 30 items
- Removed the limit on all renewals
- Removed the charge for holds not collected
- Extended hold collection time to three weeks
Markets
Ellesmere Port Flea Market will now remain closed until further notice
All borough markets will remain open in line with government guidance, only for the purchase of essential food, groceries and pet food.
All seating areas are closed and we are taking measures to ensure social distancing in all our markets. Please remain two metres (three steps) away from other people. Further guidance will be available at each market.
Museums All West Cheshire Museums are closed.
Parks and open spaces Parks and open spaces remain open for exercise, but visitors should follow social distancing advice.
Play areas All Council play areas are closed.
Public transport Bus operators across the Borough will introduce revised timetables. Before you travel please check the operator websites.
Concessionary Travel Passes The restriction on travel before 9.30am has been suspended meaning those with an eligible/recently expired Cheshire concessionary bus pass can travel free of charge on all local bus services at any time.
Work Zones All Work Zones are closed to the public. Mentoring appointments and registrations are still available online and by phone for existing customers and other unemployed residents looking for employment support.
The Work Zones are offering a job matching service for employees who have recently been laid off or had their hours reduced by the coronavirus outbreak, and are looking to transfer temporarily to a new job.
