Welcome to the June 2026 edition of the Cheshire East Best Start Family Hub Partner Newsletter!
Spotlight on...
Best Start Family Hub Locality Engagement Assistants
From left to right; Olivia (S1), Alex (S2) and Izzy (N).
Please welcome our new Best Start Family Hub Locality Engagement Assistants. They will be working across Cheshire East to build stronger relationships by attending local community groups and listening to families’ feedback about our services as well as working closely with communities to understand what matters most to them, using local insight to help shape and improve support for families.
A key part of their role will include recruiting and supporting volunteers and Parent Champions, empowering them to identify gaps in provision and working alongside partners to strengthen and support their local communities.
New look 'What's On' listings for your nearest Family Hub
Cheshire East Best Start Family Hubs are delighted to launch our new and much improved 'What's On' area of the Family Hub website.
It's now easier than ever to find out what's happening at your nearest Family Hub. Users can search by postcode, key words and age group to find the right support for them.
Baby Shower Events
Our Baby Shower events are a welcoming, friendly opportunity for expectant parents and new carers to meet the teams who support families across Cheshire East Family Hubs. The events are designed to help families feel confident, informed, and supported as they prepare for their baby’s arrival or begin the parenting journey.
Who the event is for
This event is perfect for:
- Expectant parents preparing for birth
- New parents and carers with babies
- Families, including Grandparents, who want to learn more about local support services
- Anyone who would like guidance, reassurance, or practical tips in a relaxed setting
Everyone is welcome, and there’s no need to book.
What to expect
At the Baby Shower, parents/carers have the chance to meet friendly professionals from a range of family services. They can offer information, advice, and support on topics such as:
- Childcare options in the local area
- Safe sleep guidance to help keep your baby safe
- Infant feeding support, including breastfeeding and bottle‑feeding
- What to pack for birth and early days with your newborn
- And much more, tailored to your needs as a parent or carer
It’s also a great chance to ask questions, meet other local families, and discover what support is available as the child grows.

Co-production opportunity - One Minute Guide to Pathway Plans
Cheshire East Participation Team are looking for care leavers aged 18-25 to share their views and shape something that will support others leaving care.
We’re running a series of creative sessions in the Care Leaver Hubs to co-produce a 1 minute guide to Pathway Plans, helping young people better understand what their plan is and how to get the most out of it. Sessions are informal, creative, and include food and snacks.
There are multiple dates available across Macclesfield and Crewe, so young people can choose what works best for them.
Please have a conversation with any young people you’re working with who might be interested.
If you’d like more information, feel free to contact Ann on 07976 767997 or participation@cheshireeast.gov.uk.
