Baby and Beyond

|
The Start for Life North team are piloting a new face-to-face group which encourages and promotes connectivity for pregnant families. |
Pregnant families can join a one-off antenatal session led by our friendly Start for Life practitioners, any time between 28 and 40 weeks of pregnancy to connect with other expectant parents, get ready for baby, and learn about the support available.
Parents will then reconnect when baby is 6-8weeks old for a special 3 week postnatal group. During this we will explore the importance of play, communication through stories and rhymes, and enjoy sensory and messy play that supports baby’s development.
Congleton Family Hub: Fridays 21/11, 19/12 9.30-10.30am Ash Grove Family Hub: Mondays 3/11, 1/12 4.30-5.30pm Oakenclough Family Hub: Thursdays 13/11, 11/12 9.30-10.30am.

Educational Psychology Appointments
The Educational Psychology (EP) Service is offering appointments for parents and carers at Cheshire East Family Hubs, held every half term in both North and South localities. These informal sessions are an opportunity to discuss concerns, seek advice and explore strategies to support your child or young person. Our focus areas are Cognition and Learning and SEMH (Social, Emotion and Mental Health) needs. They are not sessions for local authority processes (e.g. EHCPs or placement changes) or child assessments.
A flyer for these appointments can be found in your additional resources.
Your Future's Event - SEND Careers Fair Returns!
Wednesday, 19th November | Congleton Leisure Centre
Following the fantastic success of Cheshire East’s first SEND Careers Fair last year, the SEND Transition Team is delighted to announce the return of the Your Future’s event this November.
This event mirrors the format of universal careers fairs, with a key focus on inclusivity. Support services, educational settings, and employers attending will be showcasing how they champion inclusive practices and support young people in their journey to adulthood.
Educational settings are invited to book slots throughout the day to bring students. Parents, carers, and professionals are warmly welcome to attend during:
-
Morning session: 8:30 - 12:00
- Afternoon session: 12:30 - 14:00
This is a brilliant opportunity to explore adult support services and discover how we’re preparing young people for their future. Please share widely across your networks and we’d love to see you there.
A flyer to promote the event can be found in your accompanying resources.
