Welcome to the November 2025 edition of our Family Hubs newsletter!
Cheshire East Family Hubs look forward to welcoming you into our hubs during this autumn season!
Spotlight on... Children's Rights Month
November is Children’s Rights Month. Across our family hubs we are dedicating the whole month to raising awareness of children’s rights, making it clear to children and young people that we value their opinions.
Within our Start for Life groups and Family Help direct work sessions, we will support children and young people to create a piece of artwork which portrays “what a safe space means to you'.
Youth Support Service- Youth Work Week: Celebrating the Impact of Youth Work
Youth Work Week takes place from Monday 3rd November, marking the National Youth Agency’s annual celebration of the life-changing impact youth work has across the UK.
This year’s theme, “Building Brighter Futures: Safe places, trusted support, and opportunities to thrive,” shines a spotlight on the vital role youth work plays in helping young people feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
To mark the occasion, Cheshire East Youth Support Service hosted two evening celebration events.
Do you need some advice and guidance for all things SEND?
Come along to our SEND Local Offer live event, offering a welcoming, face-to-face space for parents and carers to seek initial advice and signposting. We are joined by a range of services and practitioners from across the SEND landscape and who make up the SEND Local Offer for Cheshire East. These events are free to attend, and no booking is required.

Applications are now open for children starting primary school. If you are a parent, with a child born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022, your child will be due to start primary school in September 2026. Parents are strongly advised to apply for three preferences.
Applications must be submitted to the child’s home local authority by:

Parents still need to apply even if the child has a brother or sister already at the school or the child is attending a nursery/preschool attached to the school. Parents should consider how their child will travel to school when making preferences. Parents can find out about school transport at Home-to-school travel support for reception to year 11

World Prematurity Day, observed every year on November 17, is a global awareness day dedicated to highlighting the challenges and impact of preterm birth. It serves as a powerful reminder of the urgent need to improve care for preterm infants and support for their families around the world.
At our Family Hubs we offer a Babies Together group, welcoming all parents/carers with their babies birth to walking.
These groups are run by start for life practitioners and give parents a relaxed environment to bond with their babies but also gives them the opportunity to meet others and share their experiences with parents alike.
Speaking to others can lift a massive weight for new parents and make them feel like they're a part of a community and they aren't alone in the struggling times they may be going through, such as premature birth.
