Welcome to the October 2025 edition of the Cheshire East Best Start Family Hub Partner Newsletter!
Spotlight on...
Family Hub Virtual Tours
We are delighted to announce the release of six virtual tours to showcase the facilities at out Best Start Family Hubs across Cheshire East.
Visiting a new place can be daunting for anyone, but add to this a challenging pregnancy, a new baby or worries around childhood development and many parents can avoid going to new places for fear of being judged. Many parents, carers and young people with additional needs also find going to new places overwhelming.
With this in mind, we hope that our new virtual tours will help to ease these anxieties a little. We hope that you will share these videos with the children and families in your care. You might also like to link to your nearest Family Hub Virtual Tour on your own website.
All videos can now be viewed on LiveWell:

CE SEND Local Offer Live!
The 'new look' SEND Marketplace events, now named Local Offer LIVE! launched on Thursday 25th September with great success. Across the day local services supporting SEND and emotional health and wellbeing across the locality were able to meet with just shy of 40 families and provide initial advice and signposting. Thanks go to Knutsford Academy and Underwood West Primary Academy for hosting!
Further dates for this academic year, along with promotional flyers can be found at the link below:
Educational Psychology Appointments
The Educational Psychology (EP) Service is offering appointments for parents and carers at Cheshire East Family Hubs, held every half term in both North and South localities. These informal sessions are an opportunity to discuss concerns, seek advice and explore strategies to support your child or young person. Our focus areas are Cognition and Learning and SEMH (Social, Emotion and Mental Health) needs. They are not sessions for local authority processes (e.g. EHCPs or placement changes) or child assessments.
A flyer for these appointments can be found in your additional resources.
Your Future's Event - SEND Careers Fair Returns!
Wednesday, 19th November | Congleton Leisure Centre
Following the fantastic success of Cheshire East’s first SEND Careers Fair last year, the SEND Transition Team is delighted to announce the return of the Your Future’s event this November.
This event mirrors the format of universal careers fairs, with a key focus on inclusivity. Support services, educational settings, and employers attending will be showcasing how they champion inclusive practices and support young people in their journey to adulthood.
Educational settings are invited to book slots throughout the day to bring students. Parents, carers, and professionals are warmly welcome to attend during:
-
Morning session: 8:30 - 12:00
- Afternoon session: 12:30 - 14:00
This is a brilliant opportunity to explore adult support services and discover how we’re preparing young people for their future. Please share widely across your networks and we’d love to see you there.
A flyer to promote the event can be found in your accompanying resources.

The Cheshire East Reusable Nappies Incentive Scheme
The Cheshire East Reusable Nappies Incentive Scheme offers a £25 voucher to help families make the switch to reusable (washable) nappies. As part of our commitment to sustainability and early years support, we welcome collaboration with professionals across health, early years, and community services. By working together, we can raise awareness of the scheme, provide practical guidance, and help families make informed, eco-friendly choices from the very start. For more information or to discuss partnership opportunities, please email RealNappies@cheshireeast.gov.uk
Central Cheshire Maternity and Neonatal Voices
We need your help!
Commissioners at Cheshire East are currently conducting a survey to better understand the assessment tools used by organisations across Cheshire East. The aim of this survey is to gather information on:
- The types of assessment tools used to screen adults and children & young people.
- Whether these tools include questions related to drug and alcohol use.
Your input will help us build a clearer picture of current practices and identify any gaps or opportunities for support and improvement in service delivery. We greatly appreciate your time and contribution to this important work.
