Welcome to the May 2025 edition of the Family Hub Partner Newsletter!
Spotlight on - Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week 2025
Monday 5th-Sunday 11th May
CE Family Hubs are proud to collaborate with Smile Charity on two fantastic parent and family events to promote Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week 2025.
The theme this year is 'Your Voice, Your Strength' which helps all mothers and their families to encourage speaking out about mental health challenges and the links between financial strains when on parental leave from work, and conversations that matter.
We will be holding two events for all pregnant women, their partners and families:
Friday 9th May - Crewe Lifestyle Centre Family Hub - 3.30pm-5.30pm
Thursday 22nd May - Oakenclough Family Hub - 3.30pm-5.30pm
We will be joined by mental health practitioners, charities and Cheshire East services to provide support and signposting to mothers and families.
A poster to promote this event is included in your additional resources. Please share this via email and display for families.

Each month we would like to bring you updates for our team and our commissioned support service, the Carers’ Hub. We hope to share with you the support available for Young Carers and some guidance for working with them, as well as reminders about our processes.
Meet the team!
We are a small team in Cheshire East who undertake statutory assessments for Young Carers to help identify needs they may have around their caring role. We provide this service for children and young people from the age of 5 to 17 cares for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction, cannot cope without their support.
Referrals for an assessment come directly to our team through the Children, Young People and Families Portal. If you need any support with this, please contact the team at youngcarersteam@cheshireeast.gov.uk

Collaboratives
North Locality
Macclesfield Old Town Hall - 4th April 2025
It was wonderful to welcome so many of you to share in our vision of working together to support children and families.
We facilitated the time and space for sixteen exhibitor stands which allowed partners to network and promote their services, as well as gaining updates in the form of guest speakers. On the day, we were joined by education, health, VCFS and the local authority who acquired valuable information across our three key priority areas of SEND, Mental Health and Deprivation.
Forty-nine partners attend the event to learn more about the wide range of services operating in the north of the borough.
May we thank our guest speakers for their input and experience. Dr Susie Roberts presented a detailed snapshot of the key findings from public health research as well as sharing current initiatives to support such topics as weight management, dental hygiene, immunisations, suicide prevention strategies and the Healthy Young Minds Alliance.
Ian Donegani from the Special Educational Needs Transformation Service shared national improvement work and updates regarding the 0-25 SEND Partnership, as well as initial information on the new SEND and AP Strategy and Improvement Plan.
Next, Ann Wright, Chief Officer at Just Drop-In, spoke to delegates about their offer for young people and how this aligns with the iThrive framework. Ann is passionate about early help and upskilling professionals.
The next face-to-face event will take place at Poynton Civic Hall on Wednesday 18th June 2025. Please look out for booking information reaching your inbox in the next few weeks.
