Welcome to the April 2025 edition of the Family Hub Partner Newsletter!
Spotlight on - World Immunisation Week
24th - 30th April
This World Immunisation Week, Family Hubs are supporting families to check whether their child is up to date with their preschool vaccines by sharing a colourful infographic produced by the UK Health Security Agency.
Vaccines:
-
help to protect you and your child from many serious and potentially deadly diseases
-
protect other people in your family and community – by helping to stop diseases spreading to people who cannot have vaccines, such as babies too young to be vaccinated and those who are too ill to be vaccinated
-
undergo rigorous safety testing before being introduced – they're also constantly monitored for side effects after being introduced
-
sometimes cause mild side effects that will not last long – you may feel a bit unwell and have a sore arm for 2 or 3 days
-
reduce or even get rid of some diseases – if enough people are vaccinated
This poster (found in your accompanying email) can be shared widely so please print/email to families today.
Autism Awareness Day
Wednesday 2nd April
 |
|
Autistic people face discrimination and barriers across all sectors of society – in the health and social care systems, in education, in employment, and everywhere in between. It is crucial that autistic people, and their families and carers, can access tailored information, guidance and support to overcome those barriers, along with opportunities to explore their interests, develop skills and build friendships for fulfilled lives. |
