Get Online Week 2024
Get Online Week is coming, and we have some great digital events planned for you.
We've highlighted a few below, and you can find full details on our website.
|
|
Get Online Week events
We're offering a range of events for beginners and experienced computer users:
- You can bring your own digital device along and get help from an IT Buddy
- Learn online basics and more using Learn My Way
- Become scam aware and stay safe online with the local PCSO or Age UK - October is also Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Perhaps you'd like to know how our online resources can help with family history, or how digital magazines can enhance your hobbies? Our friendly staff will be on hand to help at special Get Online Week events in Crewe and Middlewich.
Are you enthusiastic about technology and interested in promoting reading? Do you enjoy meeting and helping people?
We are looking for volunteer IT Buddies to show people the benefits of getting online and help them with new technology. So, if you have good IT skills, and good communication and listening skills, this could be the role for you.

Free Data
The National Databank scheme offers vital connections for anyone cut off from basic daily activities like contacting loved ones, accessing job interviews, finding essential information online, and digitised public services.
To help people stay connected online, libraries distribute free SIM cards and mobile data to local people facing digital exclusion through not being able to afford sim cards and mobile data.
