Many apologies - and thank you for reading.
New Family Hubs logo
After weeks of hard work, we’re delighted to introduce you to our new family hub brand.
A lot of thought and care has gone into the development of our identity and logo, following feedback from stakeholders, partners and most importantly of all, our audience. Which is why it’s important we take good care of our new brand.
We have developed a set of guidelines to help and show services how we can bring consistency and clarity to the brand.
In addition, we have created a marketing toolkit consisting of templates which are available by contacting familyhubs@cheshireeast.gov.uk
Launch of our first two Family Hubs
July saw the conversion of our first two children's centres into family hubs in Cheshire East. Both Oak Tree in Crewe, and Oakenclough in Wilmslow, are now open to the public, bringing council, health and community services together.
Both family hubs are the first to provide direct support to children and families from birth until they reach the age of 19 (or up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities), with more centres being developed over the next 12 months.
Families who attended the opening events enjoyed activities including face painting, balloon modelling and magic - together with wellbeing advice and more, while young people enjoyed their new chill out rooms featuring gaming stations and pool tables. Parents and carers could also learn about which services will be delivered from the hubs and their networks.
These were fantastic events which received great attendance from members of the public, and we were overwhelmed with the response and positive feedback. This was just the first step in our family hub journey, and we’re looking forward to opening more centres in the coming months.
Watch a photo montage of the events on YouTube.
You're invited to our Monks Coppenhall Family Hub launch events
On Wednesday 11 October we’ll be hosting the launch of our new SEND family hub to professionals at Monks Coppenhall children’s centre, Crewe, from 2.30pm-4.30pm.
This will offer our partners the perfect opportunity to find out more about the services that will be delivered, how we will be supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, and the key staff who will be based there on a weekly basis. There will also be a special visit from the children at Springfield School.
Invitations have been sent out, and for those not able to attend on the day, we will also be hosting a full, public launch during the week commencing the 23 October, where we’ll be inviting children, young people and families to come along.
Please feel free to drop in and see how the children's centre has been transformed.
This is an exciting next phase in our family hubs journey, and we can’t wait to showcase the specialist SEND services to those who need it most.
Collaboratives update and locality working
We are delivering our family hubs in two localities: north and south. Locality working brings together everyone who plays an active role in improving our communities, including our organisations, our businesses, our groups and residents.
We have divided the borough of Cheshire East into eight collaborative areas, four in the north and four in the south. Collaboratives bring together multi-disciplinary teams who work in specific geographies to improve the lives of children and young people.

Family Hubs digital offer
Work has been taking place behind the scenes to update all the existing webpages in LiveWell – an area on the Cheshire East website that hosts a directory of services - to ensure that they are aligned to our family hubs offer. An analysis has been carried out to help make sure the content is relevant, current, and simplified for ease of access.
In terms of our digital offer, a prototype is currently being developed after a consultation and multiple meetings with members of the family hubs team. Here feedback was gathered around different approaches, following market research into other family hubs websites from different local authorities. Look out for more news on our digital offer in future newsletters.
