The works to relocate the gas pressure reduction system (GPRS) as part of the wider Chelmer Waterside project are continuing. During these works you will see contractors from Morrison Energy Services and Cadent delivering the works on behalf of Chelmsford City Council. |

During the past month the team have completed the following:
- The foot and cycle path diversion is now fully open, we have installed fencing around the perimeter of the construction works and added information boards along the route to ensure the public are kept informed on what we are doing.
- We have been stripping the topsoil from the meadow in anticipation for our pipework being laid to facilitate connecting our new GPRS to our existing pipelines running through the meadow.
- The foundation works have been completed for the raised steel structure to be installed, which will house our telemetry and boiler house. This will protect our electrical installations from any flooding in the area.

Over the next month the team will:
- Start replacing cast iron pipes within the gas main which will reduce leakage from the pipe and create a more efficient gas network for properties in the area.
- Begin installing the outlet pipe, this will take gas out of the GPRS at a lower pressure to provide gas to properties in the area.
- The pressure reduction vessels, which are currently being manufactured off site, will be delivered soon. The vessels lower the pressure of the gas making it safe to use in properties in the area.
