The works to relocate the gas pressure reduction system (GPRS) as part of the wider Chelmer Waterside project are continuing. During these works you will see contractors from Morrison Energy Services and Cadent delivering the works on behalf of Chelmsford City Council. |

During the past month the team have completed the following:
- We have built up the temporary cycle / footpath ready for the tarmac finish, the cycle / footpath will be like for like to the existing cycle / footpath.
- Throughout June we have been constructing our bases for the new GPRS which will provide a platform for our above ground pipework to sit, these platforms are made from reinforced concrete.
- We have also been conducting trial hole investigations along Wharf Road, to ensure the ground below is suitable for the gas mains to be installed.

Over the next month the team will:
- From the 10th July part of the foot and cycle path from Springfield Lock and the Hill Road Allotments will be closed. The new temporary route is available for use.
- Foundations will be created for the telemetry and boiler house, which will house monitoring equipment for the GPRS
- Part of the meadow to the east of the allotments will be excavated to lay underground pipework to the new GPRS location from the existing pipework.
