Latest updates to Companies House services

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we’re closely following government guidelines. We have plans in place to maintain services for our customers and to protect the welfare of our employees.

Corporate Insolvency and Governance Bill

The government has introduced the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Bill, which will relieve the burden on businesses and support economic recovery.

Find out how the Bill will help your business.

Many of the measures in the Bill will need secondary legislation before they come into force. Nothing will change until that legislation is introduced.

Read explanations of each of the measures in these factsheets from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

BEIS has also planned 2 webinars to explain the new legislation:

New tool to help businesses in England identify whether they can reopen safely

The government has created a tool to help businesses in England to reopen safely.

The tool encourages businesses to carry out a risk assessment and helps to identify workplace adjustments.

Use the new tool to check what your business must do to keep people safe.

Reopening of more businesses in England

From Saturday 4 July, all businesses and venues in England can reopen, except for a small number of close proximity venues.

Check if your business or venue can open and read the COVID secure guides which cover a range of workplace settings.

Stay safe at work

Stay alert, stay safe at work. For ways to be COVID-19 secure at work, go to gov.uk/workingsafely

The government, in consultation with industry, has produced guidance to help make sure workplaces are as safe as possible.

BEIS has also hosted webinars on working safely during coronavirus.

Read the guidance and listen to the webinar recordings to make sure that you're working safely.

Safer workplace case studies

Watch the safer workplace case studies to see how a range of workplace settings are returning to work safely.

You can also visit the Coronavirus Business Support blog to read examples of how businesses are following the government's working safely guidance.

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

From 1 July, the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme will change.

Sign up to a webinar with HMRC to learn about the changes, how employers will be affected and what support is available.

Visit gov.uk/business-support or use the business support finder to find out more about the support available to you and your business.

Use our online services

As part of our response to coronavirus, we’ve introduced a temporary service to Upload a document to Companies House.

We’re continually working to improve the service. As this service is updated, it will include more document types and features such as acknowledgments and payments.
