Briefing for Partners - Signs of Safety Liquid Logic Solution

Signs of Safety is our approach to social work practice with children and families in Cumbria. The methodology supports our vision that the best place for children and young people to grow up is within their families and networks where they have the potential to care for them safely, and when this is not possible, to provide a secure and stable home and help them achieve their full potential.

What is changing?

Cumbria County Council is excited to introduce the Signs of safety Liquidlogic IT Solution in 2022. Liquidlogic’s accredited Signs of Safety solution will be incorporated into our existing IT system to update our forms and templates which Signs of Safety has developed in partnership with practitioners over many years.

Why is it changing?

To effectively embed the Signs of Safety practice approach within a statutory child protection agency, the organisation needs to align its policies, procedures, learning, supervisory, measurement and recording systems with the practice approach. With the introduction of the Signs of Safety Liquidlogic IT solution, we will align our IT systems with Cumbria’s practice model. These changes will ensure that our IT platform supports us all in our Signs of Safety Practice.

What does this mean for me?

Our Partners have already positively embraced changes through our Signs of Safety implementation. With the introduction of the Signs of Safety Liquidlogic IT solution you will now see Signs of Safety practice being embedded in the way we work together, the way we work with children and families and the way we share a common strength based, solution focused practice approach across the county.

When will this happen?

The implementation of the Liquidlogic IT solution began in April 2022, with the system going live in September 2022. Throughout this time, you will be kept updated to changes happening across the Local Authority.
