Today, Wednesday 1st June 2022, Cumbria Safeguarding Children Partnership (CSCP) have published the refreshed Multi Agency Threshold Guidance. The guidance can be accessed on the CSCP Procedures manual.
The new Threshold Guidance has been developed with multi agency partners to ensure it is accessible and easily understood. The thresholds for children and families in Cumbria have not changed, however the Multi Agency Threshold guidance has been refreshed to make the existing levels of need clearer for professionals. There is a new model which will replace the wedge. The Threshold Guidance is designed to support professionals across the county, who have direct or indirect contact with families, in determining what level of support a child or family require, ensuring they receive the right help, at the right time, for the right duration.
An additional document called Understanding the Level of Need and Practice Response has also been developed to sit alongside the threshold guidance. This document guides practitioners and designated safeguarding leads to the routes of support.
The CSCP are running a series of events throughout June 2022 to present the new guidance to support professionals in their practice.
The briefings will provide opportunities for you to learn, explore and understand the new Threshold Guidance and Understanding the Level of Need and Practice Response.
Therefore, if you work with children and young people in Cumbria, we strongly recommend that you book onto one of these events.
All bookings are via Eventbrite, to book your place by click on the link beside the date you would like to attend.
