Cumbria Multi-Agency Threshold Guidance Launch Events

On Wednesday 1st June 2022, Cumbria Safeguarding Children Partnership (CSCP) will publish the refreshed Multi Agency Threshold Guidance. The guidance is accessed on the CSCP Procedures manual. The new guidance will go live on here from 1st June 2022, until that date practitioners must continue to use the current guidance.

The CSCP are running a series of events throughout June 2022 to present the new guidance to support professionals in their practice.

The new Threshold Guidance has been developed with multi agency partners to ensure it is accessible and easily understood. The thresholds for children and families in Cumbria have not changed, however the Multi Agency Threshold guidance has been refreshed to make the existing levels of need clearer for professionals. There is a new model which will replace the wedge. The Threshold Guidance is designed to support professionals across the county, who have direct or indirect contact with families, in determining what level of support a child or family require, ensuring they receive the right help, at the right time, for the right duration.

A document to complement the threshold guidance called Understanding the Level of Need and Practice Response has also been developed to sit alongside the threshold guidance. The briefings will provide opportunities for you to learn, explore and understand the new Threshold Guidance and the Level of Need and Practice Response.

Therefore, if you work with children and young people in Cumbria, we strongly recommend that you book onto one of these events.

Cumbria Threshold Guidance – Meeting the Needs of Children and Families at the Earliest Opportunity and the Understanding the Level of Need and Practice Response documents will go live on 1st June 2022.
