Dear Colleagues,

I would like to say a warm welcome back to colleagues who have been on leave over the summer, as well as a huge thank you to those of you who have continued to operate your settings throughout or been part of the holiday activities offer.

Over the next few weeks there will be many updates from the Early Years Team on initiatives that we invite you to be partners in as we work together to support young children and their families. I know that the revised Early Years Foundation Stage will be at the forefront of your minds as it comes into effect from today, and we look forward to working with you to implement the new framework to optimise children’s learning and development.

Wishing you all the very best for the term ahead, and reminding you that we are here to support at all times.

Best wishes,

Dan Barton

Assistant Director - Education and Skills

‘Team around the Early Years Setting’ pilot

During August we launched the pilot of the ‘Team around the Early Years Setting’ model, which will take place in both Allerdale and Carlisle. This project aims to strengthen the links between Early Years Providers and other agencies that support children and families, for example, Health Visitors, SALTs and the Child and Family Support service.

All settings within Allerdale and Copeland received a letter from CSCP to tell you about this project and to invite you to complete a baseline survey by the 6th September – please could we ask you to complete the survey if you haven’t already?
