Cumbria Holiday Activities Programme launch

dan barton

Dear Colleagues,

I'm delighted to be able to announce that this week we are launching the county's Holiday Activity Programme, and I'm asking all schools to help us promote it to eligible families at your setting.

A wide range of activities are on offer from an equally wide range of organisations through the summer holiday period. Funded by the Department for Education's Holiday Activities and Food Programme 2021, this offer sits alongside summer holiday provision that has been organised by schools for their own pupils.

The Cumbria Holiday Activity Programme is aimed at children and young people who receive benefits-related free school meals. I am asking for your support in ensuring their families know about the programme and are encouraged to take advantage of it.

You'll find details of how to support the launch below. We'll also be contacting families using our own database, but we want to ensure no one is missed out.

This is a bright spark in what has been a difficult year and hopefully an exciting opportunity for children and young people to enjoy fun activities that will enable them to develop new skills, take part in creative and physical activities, learn about food and cooking and enjoy free nutritious meals each day.

Thank you for your help in making the programme a success.

Yours,

Dan Barton
