The National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE) have published a new quick guide aimed at registered managers of care homes. The quick guide covers policy and procedure requirements with the aim of creating and maintaining a positive safeguarding culture.

An introduction to MAPPA - foundation training
Do you want to find out more about Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA). This course provides a general introction to principles, purpose and procedures of MAPPA and will introduce participants to the MAPPA guidance and other relevant materials.
The course is scheduled for Monday 14th June 2021 from 10am-2pm via MSteams (future dates will also be available) and to attend you do not need any prior knowledge or experience of MAPPA.

Supporting people with dementia to be involved in safeguarding
Research has shown that older adults with dementia are more likely to experience abuse and neglect than those without a diagnosis. People who are living with dementia are entitled to be free from abuse and neglect and where abuse is experienced, and action should be taken to stop and prevent it.
The Department of Health & Social Care (DoHSC) has publishedguidancewhich sets out good practice for working people living with dementia, suggesting ways in which professionals can provide quality safeguarding and best involve people in decision-making.
