Practitioner Forums - early help strategy practice sessions

CP promote Practitioner Forums to help people who work with children and young people to learn from each other to support their role in keeping children safe.  The forums are an opportunity to understand each other's role, responsibilities and what local provision is available in their own area.  Agencies share local updates and speakers are invited to the forums to share information.  The forums are held regularly across the county approximately 6 times per year.

The next Practitioner Forums in April and May will be The Early Help Strategy – Practice Session

  • Copeland & MillomFriday 7th May (10am – 12pm)
  • Carlisle & EdenThursday 29th April (12.30pm – 2:30pm)
  • Barrow – Tuesday 27th April (10am – 11:30am)
  • Allerdale – Wednesday 5th May - (10am – 12pm)
  • South LakesWednesday 12th May (1pm – 3pm)

The current lockdown regulations mean we cannot run the old format of facilitating Practitioners Forums, therefore we have decided to promote a new way of delivering our Practitioner Forums, which is via Microsoft Teams.

Dates of all Practitioner Forums for your areas can be found on the CSCP website

Due to the forums being delivered through Microsoft Teams you will need an invitation.   If you have not had an invitation or you have not attended a Practitioner Forum before but would like to join the forum please contact the lead for each of the Practitioner Forums for your area or the forum you would like to join.  They will send you an invitation to join.  The person to contact for each of the forums is:

Barrow – Nicola Jackson – Focus Family Officer - 07825 011005 –

South Lakes – Nicola Jackson – Focus Family Officer -07825 011005 –

Carlisle and Eden – Deb Royston – CEO Cumbria Family Support

Allerdale, Copeland and Millom – Karen Ross - Early Help Officer - 07885 405708 –

We hope that through delivering the forums through Microsoft Teams we will be able to connect more people together to share good practice and gain local knowledge.

We will be interested to know how this works for people so would appreciate sharing with your lead for the forums any topics you would like covered by the CSCP, any other information that supports your role and how you have found the forum via Microsoft teams .

We look forward to seeing you.
