Mental Health and Wellbeing
A new survey, commissioned by Public Health England (PHE) at the start of the current government restrictions, reveals the impact coronavirus (COVID-19) has had on adults’ mental wellbeing across the country.
To support people during this time, PHE has launched a nationwide Better Health - Every Mind Matters campaign to support people to take action to look after their mental health and wellbeing and help support others such as family and friends. The campaign encourages people to get a free NHS-approved Mind Planfrom the Every Mind Matters website. The Every Mind Matters COVID-19 hub also includes practical tips and support on how adults can deal with uncertainty, how to cope with money and job worries and how to look after both their own and their family’s mental wellbeing while staying at home.

Clare's Law and Domestic Violence Disclosure Schemes
Clare's Law was implemented following the murder of Clare Wood by a man with a known history of violence. Domestic Violence Disclosure Schemes (DVDSs) were rolled out in 2014 which allow police to disclose normally confidential information about a person’s criminal history to someone deemed at risk for future abuse, with the view that this will help them make more informed choices about their safety. Clare’s Law also gives victims a right to ask the police to disclose information about someone who they suspect may have a criminal history.
A project and research study has been launched which explores victim/survivor experiences and perspectives of accessing Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (DVDS). Please share a link to a short surveywhich can be completed by victim/survivors, practitioners, and family/friends and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. This will help to understand any barriers experienced when accessing the scheme.
