Practitioner Forums - November/December 2020

pf

The CSCP promote Practitioner Forums to develop and support frontline safeguarding practice.

The forums are an opportunity to have regular updates from the CSCP, understand each other's roles and responsibilities and what local provision is available in their own area.

Agencies share local updates and speakers are invited to the forums to share information.  The forums are held regularly across the county approximately 6 times per year.

There is an agenda for each of the forums and for the forums being held on the dates below the agenda is:

CSCP workshop on Children in Need -  representatives from the CSCP’s newly formed Area Safeguarding Groups will be attending to consult with practitioners on their experiences of being involved in CiN cases. Feedback received will be used to shape the Boards work. If you are unable to attend but would like to feed into this then you can do so via survey monkey - https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/7JDJXMC

Refreshed Child Protection Conference Template

The current lockdown regulations mean we cannot run the old format of facilitating Practitioners Forums.

Because of this, we have decided to promote a new way of delivering our next Practitioner Forums, which is via Microsoft Teams.

The next Practitioner Forums for your areas area as follows:

  • Barrow – Tuesday 17th November 9:30am – 11:00am
  • South Lakes – Wednesday 18th November 10:00am – 11:30am
  • Carlisle and Eden – Wednesday 18th November12:30 – 2:30pm
  • Copeland and Millom – Friday 4th December 10:00am – 12:00 midday
  • Allerdale – Wednesday 2nd December – 10:00am – 12:00 midday

You may already have had an invitation to a Practitioner Forum if you have been a regular attendee to a Forum.  Due to the forums being delivered through Microsoft Teams you will need an invitation for each meeting you attend.   If you have not had an invitation or you have not attended a Practitioner Forum before but would like to join the forum please contact the lead for each of the Practitioner Forums for your area or the forum you would like to join.  The person to contact for each of the forums are:

Please note that you may not receive the TEAMS invitation until the day before the Practitioner Forum

We will be interested to know how this works for people so would appreciate sharing with your lead for the forums any topics you would like covered by the CSCP and also any other information that supports your role and how you have found the forum via Microsoft teams .
