Updated guidance - 16/92020
Key changes and additions to be aware of:
-
Contacting parents when you have suspected cases in your setting – It is still strongly recommended that schools and other educational settings contact parents if there are suspected cases in the school setting (as this helps to mitigate misinformation that can sometimes be shared via channels such as social media), however schools should decide how best to do this in consideration of the size of their setting and the number of suspected cases they are seeing
-
New single point of access email address: from 16 September any queries about suspected cases should be emailed to EducationIPC@cumbria.gov.uk
-
Information added regarding description of symptoms: this may help to determine whether or not symptoms such as coughs require a child or staff member to be isolated and tested
-
Local NHS testing offer extended to school staff: step by step guide to accessing testing for staff and children.
-
Information about ordering additional swab kits (which can be done from the 16 September as long as your previous delivery was 21 days ago or more).
Please do not share testing information with parents.
