Dear Colleagues,

Two important updates ahead of the start of term next week.

Firstly, a new Public Health resource pack. This is vital information and I hope you all find it helpful. Feedback welcome.

Secondly, a letter for parents and carers from myself, Judith Schafer and Sue Blair. We hope it provides some context for parents and carers and assists you in your own communications.

There will be a further update on Friday with some more from me, but we felt it was important to get these two things to you as soon as possible.

Yours

Dan Barton

Assistant Director - Education and Skills

Cumbria Public Health resource pack for schools

Cumbria County Council's Public Health team has produced a comprehensive resource pack for schools and Early Years settings, including a one page COVID-19 summary flow chart.

The resource pack will be updated regularly as guidance changes.

From tomorrow the latest version of the pack will always be available from https://www.cumbria.gov.uk/coronavirus/education.asp

Letter for parents and carers

Cumbria County Council, CASH and PHA have written a joint letter to parents and carers in advance of the new term starting.

Please could all schools forward this letter to their parents and carers.

The letter provides an overview of the current situation and makes clear that arrangements will differ between schools.

It is part of the work underway to promote the #backtoschoolsafely message.

www.cumbria.gov.uk/backtoschoolsafely has also been created with further information for parents and carers. Please help by sharing the page on your school social media.
