Update – Refreshed Early Help Assessment

In Cumbria we use the Early Help Assessment to ensure that children, young people and their families get the right help at the right time.

Practitioners have been telling us that they have found the paperwork to be cumbersome and difficult to complete.

We have listened to what practitioners have been telling us and because of this; we have refreshed the Early Help Assessment. The refreshed Early Help Assessment will be called Early Help Assessment – Signs of Well-being and Success.

The Early Help Assessment - Signs of Well-being and Success (EHA – SWS) is a way of working, it is no different in that it is voluntary and needs consent from the parent/carers or where appropriate the young person.  However, it is a strengths based approach and builds on what is working well for the child/ren and family.

A number of practitioners have trialled the assessment and found it much easier to use to support the needs of the child/ren, family.

The Early Help Assessment – Signs of Well-being and Success will be available on the CSCP website and go live on Tuesday 1st September 2020

New training has also been developed to support practitioners with the new assessment and these will be published on the CSCP website.  The training will be delivered through Microsoft Teams.

Watch out for the link to the new refreshed Early Help Assessment – Signs of Well-being and Success and all the training dates.
