Checklist and Risk Assessment for PVI Providers - Guidance to out of school clubs

Checklist and Risk Assessment for PVI Providers - Guidance to out of school clubs

Yesterday (2nd July) some much awaited guidance was released for providers of holiday clubs and wrap around care.

In response to the above guidance, the Early Years Team have produced a new risk assessment document which will be applicable for provision from the 20th July onwards only.

If you are risk assessing your provision which is open prior to the 20th July, please continue to use the existing checklist and risk assessment here .

We would also like to thank those of you that returned the survey regarding your plans for holiday provision, and to Child and Families Information Service for their support in analysing the responses.

Updated guidance for Early Years and Childcare Providers

We would also like to draw your attention to the following document which was also updated yesterday (2nd July) - The guidance for early years and childcare providers

This document is among many released yesterday for educational providers which reflects Government expectations about a full return to settings and schools in September.

A significant upcoming change is as follows:
From 20 July, early years settings will no longer be required to keep children in small, consistent groups. Settings should still consider how they can minimise mixing and all other protective measures must remain in place.

The guidance has been updated to reflect this and also includes new content on:
• risk assessment (section 3.1)
• supporting staff with increased risk factors (section 3.2)
• system of controls (section 3.3)
• attendance at settings for those shielding, with changes to the advice effective from 1 August (section 4)
• wraparound care (section 5.3)

Early Years Daily Attendance Survey

Please could you ensure that you continue to fill in the data return daily. As the survey was updated recently, please ensure that you use this link and not a previous one. This is of particular importance on a Thursday when we use it to submit our weekly return to the Department for Education
