Help shape a new forum for parents and carers in Cumbria

Work is underway to develop a new representative forum for parents and carers in Cumbria. The forum will have key role in representing and supporting parents and carers within the local SEND system.

It is critical that we hear the views of parents and carers about the new forum - how it should work, what its priorities should be and how it should work with other organisations.

We've created a short questionnaire to make it easy to share your views.

Please respond by 6 July and please share the survey widely to help us reach as many parents and carers as possible.

Recruiting Working Group representatives

Would you like to be more directly involved in the work of the SEND Improvement Programme?

We are currently recruiting parents and carers to join the six Working Groups that are leading the work to deliver improvements in SEND services. Parents and carers participate fully in the Working Groups to ensure their perspectives and experiences are understood and inform the work that is happening.

If you are interested you should be able to attend all, or most, of the meetings either in person or via video link.

For more information and how to apply please visit the People First website.

If you are interested, please get in touch by 6 July.

Could you be a Case Study?

People First are looking for parents/carers to be involved in creating some case studies. This is a chance to help support the SEND Improvement Programme by sharing the story of you and your child’s experiences of SEND services.

Case studies are one of the most powerful ways of getting across what it's really like for you and your family.

Earlier this year Beth shared her experience of accessing services for her daughter, Esme (watch their story).

If you would like to provide a case study please contact Matthew Tognarelli at People First.
