Dear All,

As a Local Authority, we are in regular contact with our advisers from the Department for Education, as well as Regional Ofsted Leads. Yesterday we were able to update them on the picture across the county for early years and to let them know how incredibly hard the sector has been working over the past few months, and how positively you have risen to the challenges that you have faced.

Today’s update contains some useful information from Public Health and other useful resources and information. Please do take time to read these. As ever, thank you for your tireless work for the children and families of Cumbria, and I hope that this weekend will provide you with some restorative relaxation time.

What can I do today?

We would like to thank you all for sharing the ‘What Can I do Today?’ activities with families via social media. We have had some fantastic feedback and thousands of views so hopefully many families have enjoyed doing the activities together.

From next week starting on Monday 29th June we are moving to ‘What can I do this week?’ We will share one activity a day, which will now include Saturday and Sunday, based on a theme for the whole week. The first week is bottles. This will be continuing throughout the year and we would love it if you could continue to share these regularly.

The activities gathered so far will be on the Early Years website in a booklet for you to share. Please watch this space for an update when it is available.
