We are so proud of the amazing work so many schools are doing to offer blended learning and access to virtual learning. As we continue to plan for September and beyond, there is a genuine willingness of schools to support each other.
Last week, Cumbria County Council was delighted to hear that Dalton St Mary’s has been selected as an EdTech Demonstrator School for the Department for Education.
The EdTech Demonstrator Programme includes a network of schools and colleges across the country, chosen by the DfE, who exhibit highly effective practice in the use of technology.
The programme’s aim is to help schools and colleges provide education for children remotely. Dalton St Mary’s will be will be able to offer support to you in three ways:
- 1:1 support
- Live Webinars
- Recorded demonstrations available online.
This will all be remote and can be tailored specifically to the needs, devices and staff, of your school.
Although recognised as an Apple Distinguished School Dalton St Mary’s uses a blended platform of technology including Google and Microsoft alongside an embedded Apple interface. This will ensure that they can support schools, whatever type of technology they are using and whatever their current situation may look like.
Schools who would like to access this support with remote learning, through the EdTech Programme, should register through https://edtech-demonstrator.lgfl.net/ where they can request support from Dalton St Mary’s.
We are delighted to see a Cumbrian school chosen by the DfE to support schools in this way and we would encourage schools to register if one of your priorities is to further enhance remote learning provision.
Understandably schools want the most up to date information about COVID-19 to inform their risk assessments and planning.
Cumbria's Director of Public Health has summarised the position for Cumbria at the current time.
