I would like to thank you for all that you have been doing this week to respond to the requirement to reopen early years settings during this unprecedented time.
I recognise that this has been an enormous ask, with many additional factors to consider when the specific needs of our youngest children are taken into account. Thank you for working incredibly hard and in partnership with all of us within the County Council to achieve such stability and continuity within the sector. Your commitment and expertise to support families across the county is incredible.

We have produced a new guidance document that contains general advice in relation to the speech, language and communication development of children. It suggests strategies which may be useful for some children and general good practice for all.
We would also like to remind you that there are many new and updated resources available for you on the Early Years Website and we hope that you will find these very useful as you continue to support your children and families.
Education Development Trust (EDT) and Elklan have produced some useful online resources that support early communication here.
